CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS:

JURIED SHOW 2026

October 16th - November 15th
(Submissions due September 30th)

Button Factory Arts Centre is excited to announce the return of the Juried Show 2026! This show will be juried by Sarah Stanners, the Executive Director and Chief Curator of the Canadian Clay and Glass Gallery. Submissions must be submitted online through the link below, deadline is September 30th at 11:59pm.

Requirements

  • All mediums are welcome.

  • All work must be original in concept and content.

  • 2-dimensional work must be properly and safely wired and ready to hang.

  • Entrants are encouraged to use simple framing (if applicable).

  • Only work not previously shown by BFAC will be accepted.

  • The artist agrees not to remove work from gallery prior to the closing date.

  • The artist must firmly attach ONE label to the BACK (or bottom, if 3D) of their work indicating name, title, medium and price.

  • Work that does not meet the criteria will not be accepted for entry.

  • Unless other arrangements are made, all work left 14 days beyond pick-up date becomes the property of Button Factory Arts Centre.

Sunday, November 15th from 1pm-4pm or by appointment if after this date

Awards & Sales

Awards will be announced at the opening reception. 25% commission will be deducted from the sale price of each work sold during the show. Taxes are the responsibility of the artist.

Submission Fee

Up to 3 artworks:

  • Non-members: $20

  • Members: free

About the Juror: SARAH STANNERS

Sarah Stanners, Ph.D. is currently the Executive Director & Chief Curator of the Canadian Clay & Glass Gallery. From 2011 to 2024, she was the Director Jack Bush Catalogue Raisonné project, affiliated with the Department of Art History (University of Toronto). The complete record of 1,850 paintings by the artist was published in four volumes in September 2024 and was honoured with the 2025 Melva J. Dwyer Award, presented by ARLIS/NA for an exceptional reference or research tool focused on Canadian art. Dr. Stanners has taught modern and contemporary Canadian art at the University of British Columbia, the University of Guelph, and the University of Toronto. Her professional experience as a curator began at the University of Toronto, as Assistant Curator of the Hart House permanent art collection and, between 2015 and 2018, she served as Chief Curator of the McMichael Canadian Art Collection.
