Part-Time Receptionist Position

Button Factory Arts is currently looking for an enthusiastic and responsible Part-Time Receptionist for Saturdays, 10:00-3:00 pm (1 position) with excellent customer service skills. The candidate will greet visitors to the Arts Centre and provide reception and administrative support for the organization. The receptionist will gain meaningful customer service and arts administration experience at a not-for-profit arts centre. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Staffs front desk and performs receptionist duties Saturdays, 10:00-3:00 pm.

  • Greets all visitors and offers information on exhibitions, programs and events.

  • Answers a wide range of general questions from visitors, in person, and by phone.

  • Assists with various administrative duties such as memberships, filing, record updating, marketing, mail outs, education preparation and registrations for classes, art sales, volunteer records and gallery events.

  • Receives registrations and payments and issues receipts according to policy.

  • Maintains the facilities in a tidy and organized manner, cleans public areas, as required.

 

Qualifications: 

  • Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills are required

  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks with regular interruptions

  • Previous experience or knowledge in the arts is an asset

  • Previous retail or cash handling is an asset

  • Proficient in Word

  • Some light lifting, room set-up and take down required 

  • Police check required
