Policies

Attending In-Person Classes

Masks and Vaccine Passports (QR codes) are no longer required for in-person classes, though mask-wearing is encouraged. If you have symptoms of COVID-19, you are not permitted to visit the building or attend classes.

General Program Registration Policy 

Registrants may request a tuition refund or switch to a different class up to 2 weeks prior to the start of a program. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to Head of Operations: operations@buttonfactoryarts.ca. Refund requests are subject to a 10% administration fee, and material fees where applicable.

Button Factory Arts is unable to refund any portion of the tuition for cancellations made after 14 days prior to the onset of the program. Tuition is not reimbursed for missed classes by the participant.  Withdrawal requests for medical emergencies are considered on a case-by-case basis.

 

 

Button Factory Arts reserves the right to cancel programs. In the event of a program cancellation, students will be given the option to receive a full refund, course credit, or make a donation. The participant gives permission to Button Factory Arts to use photographs, video and audio taken during workshops and courses for publicity purposes (with the exception of minors who must have a signed consent form from their legal guardian).

 

Memberships are not eligible for refund. 

COVID-19 Registration & Refund Policy

  • All programs are subject to change without notice due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.

  • If classes are cancelled, students will be given the option to receive a full refund, course credit, or make a donation.

  • BFA has the right to remove students from classes due to our policies. 

  • Absence from classes does not constitute withdrawal or refund.

  • Standard BFA rules apply for refunds and credit if you choose to leave a class.

  • Withdrawal requests for medical emergencies are considered on a case-by-case basis.  If you need to miss a class due to illness, if you suspect COVID-19, or if you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 please contact Erin Stamoulos, Head of Operations by email at: operations@buttonfactoryarts.ca

Camp Policies & Procedures

The Health and Safety of our campers, employees and visitors is our top priority. We have implemented the following in the interim to make sure that you have a safe and fun experience through our programming and to protect the most vulnerable in our community.

  • Parents/guardians are not permitted past the sign-in desk.

  • Children must be signed in/out by a parent or guardian listed on the Registration Form. ID is required for pickup.

  • If your camper has a cough, fever, or cold-like symptoms, or has been in contact with a positive case of Covid, please remain at home and email us at operations@buttonfactoryarts.ca before the class to notify us and secure a program credit.

  • Campers who test positive for COVID-19 must have a negative antigen test before returning to camp.

  • Campers are encouraged to physically distance of 2 metres from others when possible and during breaks.

  • In line with the City of Waterloo and Region of Waterloo Guidelines, campers are not required to wear masks, but will still be encouraged if they wish to. Campers may be required to wear a mask for certain activities.

  • Please note, we are monitoring the requirements in alignment with Provincial, Regional and City guidelines, policy and procedures may change in line with the ongoing COVID-19 situation.

 

Staff Precautions

Any employee feeling ill will be asked to stay home. We ask that our members and the community are understanding - with limited hours and limited volunteers phone calls may take longer to return and time the physical art centre will be limited.

Exhibitions, Gift Shop & Visiting the Art Centre

Exhibitions and the Gift Shop may be viewed at any time during our open hours.

 

Current hours of operation are:

Tuesday-Thursday: 10am-5pm

Saturdays: 10am-3pm

Camp Hours are:

Monday-Friday: 8:45am - 5:15pm

 

Button Factory Arts is closed during all long weekend holidays.

Email is still the best way to reach us or by phone during open hours.

Curb-side Pickup

Curb-side pickup is to be done by going up the accessibility ramp and ringing the bell at the side of the building. You will receive an email when your online order is ready for pickup with full instructions. 

Food & Drink

The Kitchen is not available to the public, please provide your own beverages. Food will not be allowed in the studio space.

In Person: Limitations of Liability

Any public space where people come together, like Button Factory Arts, produces a risk of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Help keep each other healthy by following health & safety guidelines, maintaining social distancing, and wearing a face mask during your visit to Button Factory Arts. By being in public spaces like Button Factory Arts you voluntarily assume all the risks related to exposure.

Zoom / Online Programs: Limitations of Liability

Button Factory Arts will not be responsible or liable for any injury or harm you sustain as a result of participating in our online virtual arts programs &/or information shared on our website or social media channels. As a result, you should understand that when participating in any virtual arts program, there is the possibility of physical injury. If you/your child engage in an online arts program, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release and forever discharge Button Factory Arts and its Program Instructors from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising out of your participation in BFA online videos or virtual arts programs.
