The Health and Safety of our employees and visitors is our top priority.

We have implemented the following to make sure that you have a safe and fun experience. 

Registration & Refund Policy

Registrants may request a tuition refund or to switch into a different class up to 10 days prior to the start of a program. All refund requests must be submitted in writing to Head of Operations: or by calling  519-886-4577 (during open hours, no voice mail requests). Refund requests are subject to a 10% administration fee, and material fees where applicable. Button Factory Arts is unable to refund any portion of the tuition for cancellations made after the 10 days prior to the onset of the program. Tuition is not reimbursed for missed classes by the participant. Button Factory Arts reserves the right to cancel programs. In the event of a program cancellation a full refund will be given. The participant gives permission to Button Factory Arts to use photographs, video and audio taken during workshops and courses for publicity purposes (with the exception of minors who must have a signed consent form from their legal guardian). Please note, Memberships are not eligible for refund. Withdrawal requests for medical reasons are considered on a case by case basis. If you need to miss a class due to illness, if you suspect COVID-19 or if you have been in contact with someone who has COVID-19 please contact Heather Franklin, Executive Director at

COVID-19 Protocol:

Button Factory Arts is following provincial guidelines for COVID-19 protocol. Contact tracing is in place. You will be required to wear a mask for your visit and you may be required to self test if you are attending a class. Please monitor provincial guidelines in relation to vaccination requirements to visit in person.

Upon Reopening:

Altered hours will help us maintain our high standards of cleanliness and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.


We have increased our cleaning schedule and disinfecting high touch and high traffic areas multiple times a day and between all classes. 

Visiting the Art Centre

Please expect upon visiting that you will be required to answer preventative health questions and provide your name and phone number for COVID-19 contact tracing (for your safety and ours). 

  • You will be required to wear a mask

  • Use hand sanitizer in the entry way

  • Social distancing of 2 metres will be required 

  • Class sizes are limited

  • Limited number of visitors in the facility

  • Please follow posted guidelines and signage at your visit

You must contact us prior to arrival by phone (519)-886-4577 if you have a medical condition or disability which does not allow you to wear a face mask so we can properly accommodate you. Some staff members are immune compromised and highly vulnerable. Masks for in person classes are 100% mandatory without exception for the health and safety of staff, artist instructors, and your fellow students and peers. Masks covering your nose and mouth must be put on before entering the art centre. Bandanas and other scarf coverings or face shields alone are not approved. Please wear a medical, N95 or cotton constructed mask. If you are unable to wear a mask, we encourage you to sign up for our many online programs this session. 

Curbside Pickup

Curbside pickup is to be done by going up the accessibility ramp and ringing the bell at the side of the building. You will receive an email when your online order is ready for pickup with full instructions. Please do not enter the front door for pickups.

Staff Precautions

Any employee feeling ill will be asked to stay home. We ask that our members and the community are understanding - with limited hours and limited volunteers phone calls may take longer to return and time the physical art centre will be limited.

We miss everyone but ask that you keep your visits short for the time being.

Please understand, visiting for conversation alone will be discouraged.

Email is still the best way to reach us as during the building closure times we will still be working from home. Phone calls are absolutely welcome during our open hours!


Exhibitions may be viewed on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 10am - 5pm.

Gift Shop

Our in person Gift Shop will be open during open hours with limited capacity.

We encourage online purchases and curb-side pickup, from our Online Gift Shop (store section of the website) for Gift Shop items and Membership renewal. See full pick-up details there.

Facility and Program Policies

All program registrations can be made online in our Online Store including membership renewal

People are not to visit the building or attend classes if they are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with someone who is unwell. We ask if you have been travelling out of province or country that you quarantine for 2 weeks before coming to the building or attending classes.

  • All programs are subject to change without notice due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.

  • If classes are cancelled, students will be given an in store credit or the option to attend further classes online.

  • BFA has the right to remove students from classes due to our policies. 

  • Absence from classes does not constitute withdrawal or refund.

  • Standard BFA rules apply for refunds and credit if you choose to leave a class (you can see our regular programs and procedures at the bottom of this page).

Food & Drink

The Kitchen is not available to the public, please provide your own beverages. Food will not be allowed in the studio space. Please feel free to use our picnic tables outside if you need to take a break for food. Masks will need to be worn the entire class time except for if taking a sip of a beverage. Hands must be sanitized after touching your mask to take a drink, eat outside, or any re-entrering of the building.

In Person: Limitations of Liability

Any public space where people come together, like Button Factory Arts, produces a risk of exposure to the coronavirus (COVID-19). Help keep each other healthy by following health & safety guidelines, maintaining social distancing, and wearing a face mask during your visit to Button Factory Arts. By being in public spaces like Button Factory Arts you voluntarily assume all the risks related to exposure.

Zoom / Online Programs: Limitations of Liability

Button Factory Arts will not be responsible or liable for any injury or harm you sustain as a result of participating in our online virtual arts programs,&/or information shared on our website or social media channels. As a result, you should understand that when participating in any virtual arts program, there is the possibility of physical injury. If you/your child engage in an online arts program, you agree that you do so at your own risk, are voluntarily participating in these activities, assume all risk of injury to yourself, and agree to release and forever discharge Button Factory Arts and its Program Instructors from any and all claims or causes of action, known or unknown, arising out of your participation in BFA online videos or virtual arts programs.
