This is BFA’s annual Printmaking Exhibition. We are pleased to welcome Judy Major-Girardin as this year’s Juror.

About Juror Judy Major-Girardin
Judy Major-Girardin received a BFA from the University of Windsor and an MFA from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She is a recently retired Professor from the School of the Arts at McMaster University where she taught for 39 years. She lives in Cambridge Ontario and has served as Co-Chair of the Cambridge Sculpture Garden since 2005. Her studio work includes an integrated practise of painting, printmaking, drawing, artist books, and fiber-based works that raise awareness for the preservation and celebration of wetland environments. She has exhibited throughout Canada and the USA and internationally through exhibitions in New Zealand, Portugal, and Taiwan.

Submission Criteria

  • This is the annual Printmaking Exhibition. All works must include some form of original print technique to be accepted.

  • All work must be original in concept and content.

  • Work may be for sale.

  • Each piece must be properly and safely wired and ready to hang. 

  • Entrants are encouraged to use simple framing. 

  • Only work not previously shown by BFA will be accepted. 

  • The artist must firmly attach ONE label to the BACK of their work indicating name, title, medium and price. Do not label the front side for jurying purposes. 

  • Work that does not meet the criteria will not be accepted for entry. 

  • All work left 60 days beyond pick-up date becomes the property of Button Factory Arts.

Important Dates

  • Drop off work at BFA: Saturday, February 24, 10 - 5 pm

  • Pick up unselected work: Tuesday, Feb 27, 10 - 5 pm

  • Exhibition Opening: Friday, March 1, 5 - 7 pm

  • Exhibition dates: March 1 - 28

  • Pick up for works in Exhibition: Saturday, March 30, 10 - 5 pm

 

Awards
Awards will be announced at the opening reception.

 

Sales
Please note that BFA will retain a 40% commission fee on any sales of work. Taxes are the responsibility of the artist. The artist retains copyright of all work on display.

Submission Fees
1 piece of artwork- $20
2 pieces of artwork- $25
3 pieces of artwork- $30

Insurance
In submitting works to be shown at Button Factory Arts,  artists agree to do so at their own risk. They are responsible for any insurance coverage they may require against loss or damage of the works while they are on Button Factory Arts property.
