Watercolour Mixed Media & Printmaking Instructor

Nancy Peng is a visual artist from Waterloo Region. She has over a decade of experience as a watercolour and mixed media instructor at Button Factory Arts  Centre and continues to explore various printmaking methods.

Nancy Peng’s artwork is influenced by her studies in traditional Japanese arts including shodo calligraphy, sumi ink painting , tenkoku stone carving and the use of Japanese washi paper. She blends various techniques and integrates both Western and Japanese aesthetics in her work. Nancy extends her creativity with silversmith jewellery making and bird and nature Photography.

“I am an artist but forever a student. As a teacher, I strive to encourage and share my joy of art. As a volunteer I support the local community to bring a sense of belonging to others. I search for the beauty beyond the flaws and imperfections and find inspiration in nature as well as the people around me.”
