Edward Hanson

After combining a 30 year career in commercial art with studies in art history and painting, in 2010 Edward was able to focus exclusively on the development of his expressionist visual language. Working in both oil and dry media like charcoal and dry pastel, Edward creates his art, based on the concept of similarities between musical composition and painting. The artwork is often characterized as having energy and movement relating to diverse musical terms.

Edward has exhibited in several group shows in the region, Open Studio events and a Solo exhibition at The Cambridge Centre for the Arts in 2017. His work can be found in private collections here in Ontario and in both San Francisco and
Chicago. Edward has been active in regional art instruction since 2010 and maintains studios in Kitchener and in Europe.
