Shift*ing Perspectives is a group for health care workers to offer a space of respite, reflection and curious engagement. This group is open to nurses, Disability Support Workers, Personal Support Workers and other front-line healthcare staff living or working in Cambridge, ON.
Each week the group will engage in open-ended arts-based activities that respond to participant needs. Working from a psycho-therapeutic framework, this is a safe space for people to come and engage at a level that feels comfortable and accessible to them while using Expressive Arts Therapy tools and structures. The focus will be made on engaging attunement, curiosity, imagination and a sense of play. Curated art materials in each kit contain materials that are easy to use, allow for activities to emerge based on themes, and can be catered to meet accessibility needs. Examples of materials and activities may include watercolours, collage materials, pencil crayons, air-dry clay, and pastels to play with mark-making, collage, simple printing techniques and intuitive clay work.
We realize that health care workers have a range of work and sleep schedules as a part of their jobs. We are offering this program as a registration-based program, but understand if attending each week isn't feasible. We ask that participants attend a minimum of 5 out of 10 weeks (50%) in order to participate and ensure a structure of safety and continuity for all participants.

Fully online program.

Staff will connect by email during business hours before the next class start date. A Zoom meeting link will be sent along with course information via email prior to the start date.

If this class is full and you'd like to be added to the waitlist, please email us with your name, email, phone number, and course code. If you need any further assistance, please contact Meghan Bunce, Interim Program Director: programs@buttonfactoryarts.ca
