Health & Safety
The Health and Safety of our employees and visitors is our top priority.
We have implemented the following to make sure that you have a safe and fun experience.
TUESDAY | THURSDAY | FRIDAY
Open Hours: Altered hours will help us maintain our high standards of cleanliness and ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.
Cleaning: We have increased our cleaning schedule and disinfecting high touch and high traffic areas multiple times a day and between all classes.
Visiting the Art Centre: Please expect upon visiting that you will be required to answer preventative health questions and provide your name and phone number for COVID-19 contact tracing (for your safety and ours)
You will be required to wear a mask
Use hand sanitizer in the entry way
Wash hands upon entering
Social distancing of 2 metres will be required
Class sizes are limited
Limited number of visitors in the facility
Please follow posted guidelines and signage at your visit
You must contact us prior to arrival by phone (519)-886-4577 if you have a medical condition or disability which does not allow you to wear a face mask so we can properly accommodate you. Some staff members are immune compromised and highly vulnerable.
Staff Precautions: Any employee feeling ill will be asked to stay home. We ask that our members and the community are understanding - with limited hours and limited volunteers phone calls may take longer to return and time the physical art centre will be limited.
We miss everyone but ask that you keep your visits short for the time being.
Please understand, visiting for conversation alone will be discouraged.
Email is still the best way to reach us as during the building closure times we will still be working from home. Phone calls are absolutely welcome during our open hours!
All in person exhibitions have been postponed.
We hope to reopen our Gallery in 2021 with new protocols.
Please do connect with our Online Photography Exhibition "The Once Unknown".
More information can be found in the exhibition section of our website.
Our in person Gift Shop will be open during opening hours with limited access.
Instead of visiting the Gift Shop we encourage online purchases and curb-side pickup, from our Online Gift Shop (store section of the website) for Tulips, Gift Shop Items and Membership renewal. See full pick-up details there.
Facility and Program Policies
All program registrations can be made online in our Online Store including membership renewal
at buttonfactoryarts.ca/store. Full info on classes is available in the program section of our website at buttonfactoryarts.ca/programs. Classes can also be purchased by phone during our open hours at 519-886-4577.
People are not to visit the building or attend classes if they are feeling unwell, or have been in contact with someone who is unwell. We ask if you have been travelling out of province or country that you quarantine for 2 weeks before coming to the building or attending classes.
All programs are subject to change without notice due to COVID-19 restrictions and guidelines.
If classes are cancelled, students will be given an in store credit or the option to attend further classes online.
BFA has the right to remove students from classes due to our policies.
Absence from classes does not constitute withdrawal or refund.
Standard BFA rules apply for refunds and credit if you choose to leave a class (you can see our regular programs and procedures at the bottom of this page).
Withdrawal requests for medical reasons are considered on a case by case basis.
Food & Drink
The Kitchen is not available to the public, please provide your own beverages. Food will not be allowed in the studio space. Please feel free to use our picnic tables outside if you need to take a break for food. Masks will need to be worn the entire class time except for if taking a sip of a beverage.
