Executive Director

Heather Franklin (ed@buttonfactoryarts.ca)

Heather Franklin is a visual artist living and working in the Region. After graduating from the Ontario College of Art, she has spent over 20 years working as an artist, instructor, curator, gallery technician and arts administrator.

Heather has been involved in organizations such as the  Waterloo Regional Arts Council, Kitchener Waterloo Society of Artists, Cambridge Sculpture Garden, Mayor’s Celebration of the Arts, and the Arts Advisory Committee of Cambridge.

Recipient of Bernice Adams Award, Y.W.C.A. Women of Distinction Award, Citizen of the Year Award.

Heather is currently a member of the collective, the Riverside Print Group.

Desiree Lichty (communications@buttonfactoryarts.ca)

Predominantly a portrait artist who works in acrylic, oil mediums. Her work has a contemporary ‘pop art’ feel painting in monotones with a pop of colour. She has an extensive exhibition history. Recent commissions include “The Art and Science of BlackBerry” in San Diego, California.

When not in her art studio, at Globe Studios, or at Button Factory Arts she is likely found volunteering somewhere in the community.

Programs Coordinator

Allie Brenner (programs@buttonfactoryarts.ca)


Allie is an artist and arts educator working in Waterloo. A BFA graduate from the Ontario College of Art and Design with a major in Sculpture and Installation; she focuses within a conceptual practice spanning a variety of media including clay, fibre, plaster, plastics, found objects, video and projection.
