Pat the Dog Playwright Centre is Canada’s newest and Ontario’s only playwright development centre.

A non-producing theatre association, we focus on the playwright, acting as a resource for both writers and producing theatres to further the art of dramaturgy and new play development.

To best serve our playwrights, we offer a range of script services, a bi-monthly e-Bulletin, Table Sessions, an annual 24-Hour playwriting contest and even dabble in special events like Theatre of the Oppressed workshops and Poetry Slam! We work closely with the Playwrights' Guild of Canada and other national, provincial and local organizations to bring the best to Waterloo Region.
