This exciting two-day portrait course will develop your ability to capture a
likeness of any model. Starting from a simple anatomical understanding of
the elements and proportions of the face, you will be challenged to look for
and isolate the unique features that identify each of us. Each student will
be asked to participate by sitting for a few short poses during the weekend.

Learn to combine coloured pencils with other media to make images in
less time than pencils alone. Learn to take advantage of the unique
properties of coloured pencils to make soft gradations, hard edges and
crisp lines. Use coloured pencils with soft pastels, oil pastels, and alkyd
resin to make painterly drawings. This class is suitable to all artistic

Learn to use conté with Albert Casson in this two-day workshop.
Experiment with techniques using black and white conté, in a reductive
method using a kneadable eraser to reveal the coloured paper below.
Draw from a still-life set up or a photo of your own with demonstrations
from the instructor, as well as one-on-one help. Complete the workshop
with a finished drawing that will be spray coated to seal.

Start with simple breathing and stretching exercises to open up and move
into vocal exercises to introduce a sense of silliness. This workshop focuses
on creative opportunities and inspirations found in playfulness. Work
